This post is for anyone who’s curious about changing their mindset and living a happier life. Before we begin, I want to share with you the reality I was living in only a couple of years ago. Cause it wasn’t pretty, and I want you to know that you’re not alone.
I spent many years as a pessimistic, negative, complaining-about-everything, can’t-see-the-light-in-anything kind of woman. I took pride in it! I was just being realistic. I was rolling my eyes at all the positive, happy, annoyingly cheery people because I knew what the real world was all about and boy, wouldn’t you all have a rude awakening when you finally realized it too.
So that’s how I lived my life.
Always prepared for bad things to happen in my life. Constantly expecting the worst, never wanting to see the good, and focusing on the shadows in my life.
Yep, part of it was my depression but a huge part of it was also my mindset. I didn’t realize how much power your belief system and thought patterns actually hold over your life, happiness, and well being. Or I knew, but I didn’t want to hear it because I wasn’t ready or willing.
I wanted to keep feeling bad cause it was all I had and all I knew, the only way I knew how to live my life. It makes me kind of sad writing this and realizing just how low I was truly feeling about myself.
Here’s the truth — you have to be willing to change. You have to want it.
As I’m writing this to you I’m living with a much more positive, balanced, loving, and empowering mindset. I’m a lot happier. I feel much lighter. And I’m so grateful for the journey that brought me here.
You’re worthy of experiencing massive transformation in your life.

Without further ado, here are 3 simple ways you can start changing your mindset, even if you’re a pessimistic, bitter bitch — like I used to be!
1 / Acknowledge that right now in this moment, you have a shitty mindset
And it makes you miserable. It doesn’t make you feel good. It doesn’t vibe right, it doesn’t add to your life, and it certainly doesn’t make you feel inspired, happy and joyful.
Your mindset consists of the thoughts that you think and the belief systems that you have built for yourself. You hold onto strong, conscious and subconscious beliefs about yourself, the world, and how life works for you.
Your mindset should inspire you, encourage you and make you radiate with light. It should carry you through life towards all your goals and dreams and support you every step on the way.
Here’s the first step in changing your mindset: Observe and acknowledge.
How are your thoughts? What do you believe to be true about yourself and your life? Do you feel supported and empowered by your mindset as it currently is?
If not, I have good news for you.
You can always choose to change it.
2 / Look at the glorious mess that is your mindset now
Really, just take a good, brave, honest look at it.
After you’ve acknowledged that your current mindset perhaps leaves something to be desired, the next step in changing your mindset is to bravely and boldly face it. Even if it’s messy and ugly and fills you with horror.
Here’s your new daily practice: to consciously observe your thoughts and your beliefs. When you encounter a negative thought or belief, write it down. Make a list of the mindset traps that are holding you back, keep you from shining your light, and force you to live in fear and play small.
How does thinking this affect my day and my mood? My confidence? Does it help me love myself more? Does it add to my happiness?
Does holding onto this particular belief make me feel good and let me live my life surrounded by good, juicy, positive energy?
3 / Change your mindset by deciding that you are fucking worthy
You are worthy of only holding beautiful, empowering, self-loving beliefs and thoughts in your mind.
Change your mindset and you can change your life. Become bold and unapologetic, the most authentic version of you. Live a life that makes you excited to jump out of bed each morning. Fall in love with the person you are.
Why would you settle for anything less?
Change comes down to a decision made with intention and purpose.
Change comes from your willingness and determination to take action.
